The University is controlled by a "Court" a "Council", and a "Senate". The Governor is ex- officio Chancellor, and the Principal (Sir C.Eliot F.CMG) is Vice Chancellor, and President of the Serate. Four senior Coverment officers have ex- officio seats on the Court and Council, and one on the Senate. The University is incorporated under local ordinance.

The first two Faculties established are Engineering and Medicine and later an Arts course will be inaugurated. It is understood that actual work will commence in October 1912. The medium of instruction will be English.

In addition to the Principal, Professor Smith has been appointed as Head of the Engineering branch, and Professors of Physics and Physiology are about to be appointed. Medical men and engineers in practice locally or in the Government service will also be engaged to lecture in the various branches of these subjects.

A Selection Committee under Sir J.Struthers, K.C.B. of the Scottish Education Department selects the Staff required, and a General Committee of which Sir T.Jackson (Bart) is Chairman is in charge of the interests of the University in England. Those who desire further information should apply to one or other of these Committees, or to the Registrar, Hong Kong.
